Prepare. Perform. Recover.

That's all I do—and that process becomes especially important in a week where my team and I put on my signature storytelling event, Personal Story Power, in La Jolla.

Most people think they should focus most of their energy on that second mode, performance.

Today, I want to remind you how important that first mode is: preparation.

Preparation isn't sexy. It can be a grind, running all those miles behind the scenes that nobody sees but you.

BUT, how you prepare will set you apart from everyone else. Not everyone has the drive and discipline to commit 100% to their preparation.

Preparation sets the stage for greatness. It gives you the space to feel real freedom when you perform—to embrace every moment as it comes to you, rather than worrying about what comes next.

And that opens the door for my favorite part of Personal Story Power.

I'll show you what it is in the behind-the-scenes video above that I filmed at PSPE.

By the way, if you don't run the miles in the preparation phase, you could totally miss out on what I'll show you in the video.

It's the kind of thing that will make your event—or your presentation, or whatever you share with your audience—unforgettable.

So don't skimp on your preparation. Prepare for greatness, and watch it take you to the top.
