The story you're telling yourself determines the trajectory of your life.

But if you're living out someone else's story…

…then someone else is in charge of your life.

I don't want you to live out an old family story. I don't want to see some teacher who told you that you weren't smart enough dictate your path.

Instead, I want the most valuable person to be in charge of your life.

That's you.

This week, let's make sure that the right person is in charge of your narrative—and determining the course you chart going forward.

Check out my video above, and I'll show you how to make sure you're in the driver's seat.

As you take a close look at who's telling your story, there's one more question you need to ask yourself, and it's the key to writing your own ticket in life. I'll show you what it is in the video.

Your Marching Orders

  1. Take a hard look at your narrative. Is it yours? Write down a few names of people who might be dictating your narrative: family members, past teachers, an old coach, etc.
  2. Ask yourself: Is your current story going to take you closer to fulfilling your impossible dream? If not, how can you make some tweaks to correct your course?
  3. Write down your new narrative in your journal—the one that's uniquely your own, the one that's going to take you where you want to go.
