Who do you surround yourself with? Who are the people in your inner circle, who shape your thinking and influence your ideas?
Dawn and I attended an event in Utah recently with some amazing cutting-edge scientists, and doctors and researchers on health and longevity, and it prompted two insights I want to share with you:
- The experts who stood out were the ones who had the story to go with the cutting-edge science. For those of you who have been in my community for a while, this might not come as a surprise. However, this event only reinforced that you can have the most amazing, life-changing product in the world, but if you haven’t crafted a powerful story around it, you’ll struggle to get traction with both investors and customers.
- You move yourself to take action when you surround yourself with different people. We were one of only two couples there who weren't doctors, scientists, or practitioners—and we bought an infrared sauna! We're taking our health and recovery to a whole new level next year, and this conference was the catalyst.
So, now I ask you:
Who do you need to surround yourself with in 2021 so you can
take the action that's going to get you where you need to be?</center
Now is a great time to cultivate those relationships that are going to help you keep climbing to the top. I’m talking about the people you socialize with, the team you build in your business or the people you look to for inspiration and insight.
Take Action:
Think about the people in your life who keep you moving forward. Who are they? Make a list of them right now, and keep them close over the next year.
The people who don’t? Trust me, if you’re cultivating those other relationships and chasing your dreams, you won’t have the time and energy for the people who might derail your dream.
Stay focused.
Finally, when you don’t have people in your life who understand your drive to be the Best, it can get lonely. That’s why I say in There’s No Plan B for Your A-Game, “you need a Dawn in your life.” My wife, Dawn, has been clearing forests for me since 1998 so I can be my Best, and I don’t know where I’d be without her.
If you want to introduce your Dawn to what it means to be the Best—or, really, any of your team members who are supporting you on your journey—There’s No Plan B for Your A-Game is now in paperback.
It’s never been easier to share with a loved one or a colleague what it means to risk it all for your dreams and ditch your Plan B.
