There are more than 60,000 books on Amazon right now with “happiness” in their titles. And Google gets searches in the hundreds of thousands every month for “happiness,” “happy” and “pursuit of happiness.”
The only logical conclusion?
As human beings, we're very interested in the idea of being happy.
But how does happiness fit in with your quest to be the Best?
That’s what Christian, one of your fellow community members, asked me during my last Live.
Now, when I'm shooting for greatness, I'm not aiming to be happy. Instead, I'm aiming for something completely different. (And here's the secret: It will probably make you happier in the long run!)
I’ll explain it all in the video above
And, by the way, this jibes with recent psychological research. A recent study suggests that thinking too much about happiness can make us focus more on our failures, resulting in more stress over the long run.
Fascinating, right?
If you want to dig deeper, this article from Time magazine sums up the findings well. And here's the original article from Emotion, a peer-reviewed psychology journal published by the American Psychological Association.
So now that we have this knowledge, what are we going to do with it?
