I fell down on one of our Eason family traditions.

If you're a parent, you can probably guess what I forgot to do a few days ago.

Yes, that's right: I forgot to move our Elf on the Shelf, “Elfie.”

My 10-year-old daughter, Lyla, was not happy to find Elfie in the same spot two days in a row.

With the help of my 15-year-old daughter, Eloise, I played it off. (I hope.)

But Lyla's disappointment reminded me how important traditions are, especially around the holidays. They help give the season meaning, and, in the Eason family, they help us set our sights on who we want to be during the year ahead.

This week, Dawn and I filmed this video to share our holiday traditions (and our Christmas wishes!) with you and your family.

We hope they inspire you to decide who you want to be this coming year in order to fulfill on your dreams.

In the video, I'll share one of my favorite holiday traditions—one that caught Dawn by surprise when we first met.

She didn't know what she was getting into with me! But she's softened me and I've challenged her.

And together, we've created a set of traditions that our family looks forward to every year. Discover what they are in the video.

Wishing you a Merry Christmas from Dawn, Lyla, Eloise, Axel, Dawn and me!
