One of my coaches told me something that surprised the heck out of me a few years ago. Now, I know this might be a little controversial, but it's important, so I want to share it with you:

“You need to contribute with your dark side.”

I was a little confused at first.

Then he clarified: At the time, I was trying to be popular. I was trying to be the “nice guy,” but that wasn't getting things done.

To be more effective, I needed to access my dark side.

When I originally uncovered this concept, I thought back to my NFL career, and it all made sense. The Oilers didn't pay for my light side. They paid for my dark side.

So now I ask you:

  • Do you want to be nice? And popular?
  • Or do you want to be effective?

Accessing your dark side will help you move that needle.

If you feel uncomfortable about accessing the darker side of yourself, I'll give you the permission slip you need to get it done.

Take Action:

I want to know: What's ONE thing your dark side could help you achieve? In what area could you be more effective if you dropped the “nice guy” or “nice gal” persona?

List it below in the comments—and take the first step toward getting more effective in your life and business.
